Therapy Blocks

Therapy blocks are designed for children with complex speech sound disorders, including Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) and other complex motor speech presentations.

How therapy is structured:

FLOW - by design.

Every therapy block follows the FLOW framework.

F
Foundations

Therapy is grounded in strong research and a clear understanding of how speech is learned, planned, coordinated, and carried out.

L
Looking deeper

Time is taken to understand why speech is difficult for your child, including how their speech system works, their development, and the factors that support or challenge learning.

O
Opportunities

FLOW focuses on identifying where meaningful change is possible, whether that’s clearer speech, reduced effort, increased confidence, or better communication in everyday life.

W
Whole child

Therapy considers the whole child — their personality, family, school environment, energy levels, and day-to-day life — so therapy fits naturally into their world and supports participation using the best of what speech science offers.

Joining the waitlist. Places are limited.

Priority is offered to children already engaged in therapy, with remaining places offered to families on the waitlist based on clinical fit, location, and scheduling. If your child has not yet been assessed by Flow Talk, a consultation or diagnostic assessment may be recommended before commencing a therapy block.

Consultations

A consultation is often the right starting point if you’re unsure what’s going on or what to prioritise next.

This is a focused, parent-only telehealth session.

Your child does not attend. The session is designed to review your child's history, current speech profile, and any previous reports or therapy. Where helpful, you are welcome to share videos of your child's speech for discussion.

A consultation is not a formal assessment.

It provides a targeted clinical perspective so you can move forward with greater clarity.

Consultations are a good fit when:

You will leave with:

Even if therapy does not begin immediately, you will leave knowing what to consider next.

Flow Talk provides diagnostic assessments for children where Childhood Apraxia of Speech, dysarthria, or another complex speech sound disorder is suspected or has been previously queried.

A fresh clinical perspective from someone with a focused background in this area.

An assessment involves:

direct evaluation of your child's speech skills, detailed analysis, and a written report outlining clinical findings.

This is a good fit when:

You will receive:

An assessment can also help determine whether your child is suited to Flow Talk’s block therapy model.

To enquire about a diagnostic assessment, please share a little about your child and we will be in touch.
